Mistakes we make while applying Mascara

Best Mascara Tips - Last Long

You probably think you know everything about mascara, but I bet that you still find yourself making one of these 5 mistakes occasionally. These mistakes will not help you create your best  makeup look, even worse: they may be harmful to your skin or health. So, read carefully and make sure you avoid all of these:

1.  To Avoid “Spider Eyes”

Stop piling up mascara coats! More is not always better when it comes to mascara: stop after a couple of coats to avoid the infamous “spider eyes” that look awful and frankly speaking, cheap. If you desire a more intense, pronounced look, use a black or brown eye pencil on the inner rim of your eye. A little pencil at the base of your lashes will add intensity and make your lashes look thicker. Who new that volume is not just about mascara?

2. To Avoid Pinkeye

Yes, it’s not a mistake: old mascara can be infested by germs and cause eye redness or even pinkeye. Don’t hesitate to toss it into trash if you can’t remember when you bought it.

3. To Avoid Smudged Eyes

It doesn’t matter how careful and precise you are when applying mascara: once in a while smudges happen. Removing them is a tedious task, and when you have to touch up your eyeshadow or foundation afterwords, it’s simply annoying.  However, if you have a business card, slide it under your lashes before applying mascara, and all smudges will stay on paper, not on your face.

4. To Actually Make Your Eyelashes Look Longer

Start applying your mascara at the roots. I know it seems obvious, but many women (especially in a hurry) don’t cover the roots. And guess what? When you don’t wiggle mascara at the base of your eyelashes first, it will make your eyelashes look shorter.

5. To Make Mascara Last Longer

Isn’t it frustrating when you invest into a pricey brand for the best results, and a few weeks later your mascara dries out? If it sounds familiar, you should make sure that you don’t “pump” the tube with air every time you apply makeup (twist and turn instead). However, if your tube is already dry, try this simple and super effective trick: add a drop or two of saline solution for the eye – that’s it!
